Today is the last day of April oh wow
it's also 2 holidays that I shall tell you about
today is National Honesty Day
as opposed to a month ago and April Fools Day
it's also Hairstyle Appreciation Day so let me be clear
to appreciate what on your head if it is hair
and you had to pick a style for it so kudos to you
for walking out of the house make a decision or 2
hairstyles come and go just like pop songs and Disney appointed teen stars
I have been doing a month of no coffee in the morning
I've been doing pretty good with no coffee beans to warm me...I sometimes get a decaf mocha late in the day...that's not good with calories...even if you get them lite...oh cruel life.

Took a couple days off from the show
I think most of you didn't even know
I was having a soul searching couple of days
whether this podcast is going a meaningful way
I mean really who cares about a daily podcast when it comes down to it
most of you don't have the time to listen to this show and I knew it
yet I will persist in bringing you a daily podcast you can't hear any where else
in other words I'm a glutton for punishment and probably need help
we missed a bunch of weird holidays Friday, yesterday, and today.  I will list them all without saying the word "day."
Babe Ruth, Prime Rib, Tell a Story, Great Poetry Reading,
Kiss Your Mate, Greenery, Shrimp and Scampi, I'm not kidding...today is Shrimp and Scampi Day...the food for bloated white male suites everywhere...I'll celebrate by not eating it.

Charles Richter made it in '35 for when the earth shakes
the strongest earthquake was off the coast of Chile in 1960
today is also Take Your Daughter to Work Day, that's kind of nifty
originally just meant for girls to see the workplace boys acted like little babies and wanted to go to work too
of course most of them just want to get out of school
I'm not a parent yet but daddy didn't raise no fool...that's a lot of days to celebrate...how do we keep track of them all?...oh yeah, we don't.

Today has been a fun day for me
going to thrift stores with my friend Terri
she needs to find odd things for the Aids Bike Ride
where people ride bicycles over a long divide
they go from San Francisco to Los Angleleeeez
and my friend Terri helps out with the supervising
of all the have fun theme filled rest stops
so the best place to find stuff is at thrift shops
I saw one guy at a thrift store buying 10 cassettes and I thought, do you really want to do that?
Today's Administrative Professionals Day
and World Penguin Day and East Meets West Day...that last one needs some 'splaining...it has to do with sports teams meeting for friendly competition...I know, where do I find these things?

at Cafe Du Nord and I made sure to wear a shirt
after a week of talking to the 3 members
it was a fun night I'll always remember
we also must point out what today is so don't forget
today is the day named after Pigs in a Blanket
that breakfast food that carries a lot of calories
eat it but I hope some day you don't get diabetes
sausage, pancakes, syrup, what 3 things does our pancreas hate more?
Oh, and I'm having a difficult time explaining
this podcast to people so I'm complaining...it's hard enough to describe what a podcast is...but how would you describe this show...I mean, I guess if I want to be podcast status quo I need to cuss like crazy.

I can feel my teeth rotting away so dandy
today is also Girls Scout Leader Day
I love their chocolate peanut butter cookie okay
they really camp out in front of every supermarket here in the Bay Area like I've never seen during cookie season
in other news I watched a movie on the Amish last night
I didn't realize all the crazy stuff they put up with in life...like no cars unless they're a passenger...no modern clothes but I guess they can use plastic...since that's what they use to carry clothes around in plastic laundry baskets.

garlic lowers blood cholesterol levels and fights off cold and flu's

So yesterday I went to update my blog and oh
I had an unfortunate experience to undergo
my blogsite Podcast dot Blog dot com
was suspended for no reason and now it's gone
I don't know why they took podcast dot blog dot com from me
because my MikeTalks dot blog dot com is still up as I can see
and that's the same webserver and right now they kinda suck
won't respond to any of my emails so I am shit out of luck
in other news today it's International Jugglers Day for those of you who care
I've never been able to juggle, no coordination
thank god I don't need to have that kind of appreciation...it's also National Columnists Day...a newspaper, children, is what Yahoo is now...that damn Yahoo page is so distracting!

was suspended for no reason and now it's gone
I don't know why they took podcast dot blog dot com from me
because my MikeTalks dot blog dot com is still up as I can see
and that's the same webserver and right now they kinda suck
won't respond to any of my emails so I am shit out of luck
in other news today it's International Jugglers Day for those of you who care
I've never been able to juggle, no coordination
thank god I don't need to have that kind of appreciation...it's also National Columnists Day...a newspaper, children, is what Yahoo is now...that damn Yahoo page is so distracting!

it's also National Cheeseball Day however
it could be cheese puffs or those balls made out of cheese, whatever
it's also Pet Owner's Independence Day
where your dog goes to work and at home's where you stay
those are some pretty ridiculous day's, n'est-ce pas?
On another note I'm noticing at gyms people throwing weights on the ground
since they're made out of rubber so they just hit and bounce around...but I was taught you need to be careful...you must place the weight back down...it builds strength in your back...this is an important issue?!?

I know the basic plot so I have avoided it so it won't screw me
today is National Stress Awareness Day
and since taxes are do today you might want to keep stress at bay
by breathing in deep and counting to three.  Or taking a nice bath.
It's also Eggs Benedict Day and Patriot Day
but I don't eat breakfast and am not from New England way...this holiday's big in New England...the Hollandaise sauce is good on your eggs...maybe with a little salmon....yumm!

today celebrates that game that's so much fun
and I think it's a game that I have never won
I enjoy a variation on the Scrabble game
it's called Bananagrams and it's not lame
you take all those letter tiles and mix them up
then see how many words of which you can come up
on a different note, the rain here in Castro Valley was insane last night!
I had to go out at 10pm to try
to same my garbage cans that were floating by...our street was a river...and our power went out...we couldn't finish The Green Hornet.

Today we hear from Chely Shoehart, Floyd the Floorman, and John Deer the Engineer, PLUS we bring you the segment MIKE's ABSOLUTELY USELESS REVIEW, and on NEWS RANDOM, Castro Valley on gay marriage.

Her name was Laika which is Russian for "Barker"
she unfortunately died during the flight so that's darker
space history yet the Russians made a monument to her
a dog standing on a rocket is the statue for us to remember.
Today is also Big Wind Day named for the strongest Earth winds ever recorded at Mount Washington Observatory
the winds reached 231 miles per hour
that is some serious wind power!...Nothing matches my dog's wind power...Basil has blown out the doors of the LAST PLACE ON EARTH a couple times!

sings in a quartet in Germany but no...I haven't seen him perform yet...that would be a treat...it's also Submarine Day...oh joy!

by the way did you see Sofia Vergara on Saturday Night Live?  She is so funny!
She did an impression of Fran Drescher who she looks a little like

Today is No Housework Day but I must say
who really does housework on Saturday?
Actually my Mom did that so I should tell you
the smell of Windex reminds me of Saturday afternoons
today is also World Health Day so try to be healthy
just like Jamie Oliver who is also quite wealthy
except on Easter weekend when Cadbury eggs are all over
and those chocolate bunnies if you can't finish DON'T give them to Rover
because chocolate is bad for dogs!  Don't forget that!  Garlic is too but they're not vampires.
Finally today is also Caramel Popcorn Day
I like it better when it's Kettle Corn, then it's okay...sticky chewy mess...rotting my teeth...this should be put your dentist in a higher tax bracket day!

Today is Walk To Work Day as declared in 2004
so today's okay if your feet are a little sore
it was started by Tommy G. Thompson who was our Secretary of Health
he wanted us to lose a little weight and maybe gain a little stealth
they say we should all walk at least 30 minutes a day
which seems like an adequate goal to try to maintain
today is also Plan Your Epitaph Day which we can presume
that if you don't at least try to walk you might end up there soon
today is also Sorry Charlie Day for those of us who have been rejected lately...remember rejection is part of life!
Today, of course, is also Good Friday
and a month away from our one year anniversary day...for this podcast...actually it's a month and one day from that...who's counting?

they're mostly people I worked with in radio.  But interestingly they're all former promotion directors.
In other radio news they let the morning show
after 20 years at the country station I worked for go...the crappy company I worked for...cumulus...just like clear channel but twice the ego!....and the debt!

today is also Reconciliation Day so try to patch things up today with your loved one
meanwhile I've been listening to a podcast that I don't like
but I've been trying to finish one episode for more than a fortnight...and I'm determined to finish it...even though I'll never listen to another one from these guys.
