Today I delete my Netflix account
because they charge too high an amount
but then I noticed their DVD program is the cheapest
Blockbuster is still 2 dollars more and their library may be the deepest
so I will probably keep the Netflix dvd's
but I've had it with their streaming fees
they offer so many awful 80's movies
and horrible tv shows and other sleeze
don't forget to eat your peas!  Little green vegetables...or fruits, I never can remember that...
are fruits the ones with inside seeds?
someone get me off this topic, please!

So on Sunday I forgot to mention
I went to the UC Berkeley Free For All convention
lots of live music played all day
I unfortunately got there late
they had a performances at several of the halls
then one section with a food court type of mall
with a live jazz band and a bunch of little booths
promoting 4 different radio stations people can use
and the formats included talk, classical, talk, and hodge podge
I heard Jane Lynch was there earlier
college kids are addicted to Glee that's the only way they know her

Today we hear from Valentino the Parking Attendant, Bison Bentley, and Madame Rootabega. PLUS we bring you the segment NEWS RANDOM about something that affects us all!  Well, mostly men.  But it's funny when it affects celebrity men!

we went to the Oakland Zoo
it's a fun educational thing to do
I really liked the river otters, they're a hoot
we got to watch them eating food
the meerkats were a close cute second
no one will notice if I hide one in my pockets
and the giraffe's are awesome too...let's hear it for their crazy ears and tongues
so don't miss seeing your local zoo soon
there's an animal that will completely entertain you

My wife and I watched Modern Family on Hulu last night
the first two episodes of the new season are all right
then hulu played an episode of Cougar Town for us
Isn't Courtney Cox on this show? I was nonplussed
because all I saw was this girl who looked like her
who I had never seen before she had way too much work
yesterday my mother-in-law said about the Bridesmades movie the one
with Kristin Wiig and her cast that seemed they had no work done
seriously, you want to look younger, but why do you want to make yourself unrecognizable?
so I won't be watching Cougar Town
besides it was the unfunniest show around

Today we hear from Valentino the Parking Attendant, Bison Bentley, and Madame Rootabega, PLUS we have...no WHAT's THE CLICHE OF THE WEEK?  No, that's postponed till tomorrow so that we can bring you something timely.  Today the San Francisco Chronicle and its website SFGate wrote about the bizarre rocket ship on the Embarcadero in San Francisco.  Earlier this year I called the people that made it and talked to them on my segment MIKE's SCAVENGER HUNT.  We'll hear that interview today.

now I listen to them and think back to when I had hair
and when music came with hiss oh it's just sad to compare
throw my cassettes away? Never!  I see a glimpse into my past psyche
so as long as they make cassette players
there will be people who listen to Leo Sayer

So generations are an interesting thing
you never know what certain people will bring
I'll give you an idea so that you can see
one group in their 20's the other in their 60's
the group in their 20's were talking to me some
and they said they'd never heard of Neil Young
that made my jaw drop, he's like Dylan or Elvis
but they don't know him now cuz he's on the top 40 list
as for the 60 year olds, they group I talked to had no idea what a podcast was
I explained for an hour, didn't get no where
there's a generation gap for you to compare!

I went to the Castro Valley Blues Festival
I got bitten by a yellowjacket and it started to swell
had a couple beers and the pain went away
self medication is not always the best way
then when I woke up this morning I could still feel the bite
it was very faint but yellowjackets are little jerks I think I might
talk about the blues festival the last band was really good
I didn't give them a card to interview them though I should
their name was the Daniel Castro Band and they are legendary in these parts
so blues festivals means beer and older people
and annoying bugs who like to eat you

when I took a job in Alabama

that was a big mistake because when I got there
I was told to drive a big truck for hours everywhere
and not get paid for any public appearance
I should have taken the hint and made a disappearance
and when you drive around there you're driving miles and miles and miles just to get to the next town
so that's what radio is for those who don't know
a bunch of idiots telling you where you can go!

So last night we saw "My Idiot Brother"
it was funny and it featured Paul Rudd--er
the comedy was very low key
they tried to keep it to reality
unlike Judd Apatow movies that get a little off track
this one kept to this family and the brother's impact
as all his sisters try to help him he helps them back
by causing a bunch of trouble that leaves them mad as hack

because all the models she chose didn't have a single curve

I was watching it with my wife who likes project runway...so it's okay
I hear Betsy will be in San Francisco
that will be a mob as far as mob's go

Today we hear from Valentino the Parking Attendant, Bison Bentley, and Madame Rootabega, plus the finale of my interview with author and financial planner John Graves in my segment INTO AN INTERVIEW.

Tomorrow we'll hear from Chely Shoehart the Giftshop Supervisor, Floyd the Floorman, and John Deer the Engineer.  Three people who have never walked down a runway.  Unless you bring up the time a plane kicked them off and they had to walk down a runway back to the airport terminal and then I had to pick them up.  But I told them that was the last time!  Then they did it again.

I went to a street fair yesterday
the biggest one I've been to I must say
it was the Solano Stroll Street festival
there were lots of people having a ball
there was so much live music it was really slick
every couple of feet another band played music
there were booths that featured almost everything
if you had some sort of cause this is where you had to be
and I went to the Castro Valley Fall Festival and that was a fun community event
though that one was smaller but it was still fun
I actually saw people I knew at that one

So last night was the RockBand party
man, I don't know where to start--ee
there were more people than last year
lots of performers with no fear
my friends Steve and Terri had it at a community house
in their condo complex and they had pizza's out
and two different screens on opposite sides
to play the game to in a room that was wide
I did Boston's "more than a feeling" on vocals which more than destroyed my voice
met some cool people who were all distinct
so I guess rockband is far from being extinct

The other day I took the BART

after I got on I thought that wasn't so smart

because I look up and there's riot police

and they weren't dressed in pretty fleece

they had on their tazers and guns and army boots

carrying big duffle bags full of various fruits

no probably not more like helmets and shields

it's crazy to see that when you're actually in the field

I'm on a BART with riot police and old people listening to their iPods, how Bay Area!

yes traveling on a monorail

really never gets too stale!

leave it alone. Yes they are aces!

of teenagers and guys in suits?
They both walk around never looking up
from their smart phones, watch where you're going, Bud!
I noticed with teenagers and twenty somethings
they only care about the phone and not what's really happening
remember when teenagers were always hogging up the home phone
now they do that all the time surrounded by friends or completely alone
and businessmen do the same thing only much louder..."No, I told Mark to take care of the order!"
Meanwhile the cops let people drive phone to ear
their priorities don't seem completely clear!

So I missed a podcast yesterday
but that's all right because it was Labor Day
and even though this show's not labor
not doing it yesterday let me play more
we got up early on Monday and headed due west
to Half Moon bay and we took the boxer in his vest
I mean his car harness because he needs to be safe
then we got to the beach and let him playf playf playf
and being that it was early, no one was there, just us and a bunch of clouds
then to a family get together for lunch
with lots of chips and guac to much

So the station I started in Alabama
has seen it's share of drama
Cumulus is a big radio company
and they said they wanted it to be country
then after a year they went and let me go
they said they were taking a different direction but did they? no!
they kept it country for another 2 years and a half
the ratings still sucked so that choice was full of crap
then they changed the format this morning...to all 80's and 90's!
they've called the station "journey"
after the group so they'll need a gurney!
